From Computer Designer to Educational Visionary: Bhagya Wijewardane's Journey
 

                When Bhagya Wijewardane set out to create Keystone Montessori Academy and Moonstone Montessori Daycare, she had one driving force in mind: creating the perfect learning environment for her children. What began as a personal mission has grown into something much more, built on four foundational pillars: safety, education, nutrition, and a nurturing yet challenging environment.

                Bhagya's path to education wasn't a straight line. After earning her degree in Computer Aided Design and Architecture, she carved out a successful career as a Telecommunication Designer, working with LAUSD schools on cable plant designs. But parenthood has a way of reshaping our priorities. Seeking to give her children a deeper connection to their heritage, she made the bold decision to return to her native Sri Lanka.

             This move proved transformative. While immersing her children in Sri Lankan culture, Bhagya pursued her AMI Montessori Diploma, laying the groundwork for her future in education. Back in the United States, she didn't slow down - she earned her early childhood post-graduate diplomas from UCLA with distinction and secured her California Site Supervisor Permit. She then earn her AMS AS degree from UCI and now she is a AMS Member. She earned her ECE Degree and then earn the California highest permit of Director permit. Her commitment to learning continued through additional certifications in Sanitization, child abuse, child safety, business management, & professional coaching.

               Leadership came naturally to Bhagya from an early age. As both a junior and senior prefect and dedicated Girl Scout, she threw herself into everything from broadcasting to English literature clubs, and from Rotary activities to drug prevention programs. Her academic excellence - graduating with the second-highest GPA in middle school - opened doors to sports teams and various competitions.

              Today, Bhagya wears many hats with grace: educator, blogger, real estate professional, and Girl Scout troop leader. But perhaps her most cherished role is being mother to two daughters. Through her blogs, she shares her expertise with parents navigating the complex journey of child development, staying true to her lifelong commitment to learning and growth.

           At Moonstone Montessori Daycare Bhagya's diverse experiences converge to create an educational environment that nurtures not just academic achievement, but the whole child. It's a testament to how personal passion can transform into a mission that serves an entire community.
